I’m especially experienced with proofreading and copy editing* the following documents:

  • Masters and doctoral theses

  • Books (fiction and non-fiction)

  • Business: newsletters, websites, Powerpoint content, and other professional communications, including advertising materials

  • Small content: menus, signs, pamphlets, cover letters, blog content, business cards, and more

  • *How do you know if you need proofreading or copy editing? Let’s look closer:

proofreading

If you answer YES to all of the following, you’ll want me to help you with proofreading your writing. (Proofreading is $30/hour, with a $15 minimum for small tasks.)

  1. Is your writing organized, with the ideas and sentences flowing well?

  2. Is it easy to understand?

  3. Do you want help with spelling, punctuation, grammar, and finding typing errors?

copy editing

If you answer YES to any of the following, you’ll want me to help you with copy editing your writing. (Copy editing is $45/hour, with a $20 minimum for small tasks. The cost of copy editing includes proofreading as well.)

  1. Do some ideas seem unclear? If you read your document aloud, is the listener left with questions about your meaning?

  2. Do you feel that the choice of words could be improved?

  3. Does your writing contain facts that need to be double-checked?

  4. Do you want suggestions about what could be added, deleted, or changed in order to make your writing the best it can be?
